The Greater New Milford Board of Realtors recently honored Gael Hammer of Washington as its 2013 Local Realtor of the Year.

Hammer has been an agent at Klemm Real Estate for 28 years.

The Greater New Milford Board of Realtors annually selects a winner.

The Realtor is chosen by a committee of Realtor peers who are previous winners of the award. Selection criteria is based on involvement in the local real estate market.

"I am thrilled that Gael Hammer has received this wonderful recognition that he so deserves," said Carolyn Klemm of Klemm Real Estate.

"He has been a loyal and trusted agent and friend for over 25 years," Klemm said, "and he has definitely earned the respect of both competitors and customers."

Hammer's real estate career has focused on luxury properties in Litchfield County and neighboring counties in New York state.

In addition to his successful career, he and his partner, Gary Goodwin, have hosted the now famous "Tea for Two Hundred" for the past 16 years, a popular summer event benefitting a number of charitable organizations.
