HORSE of Connecticut in Washington will hold a tack sale Jan. 16-17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The event will benefit the organization’s newest rescue, Sweet Pea, a Welch pony that came to the farm when her family was no longer able to care for her.

Sweet Pea, a petite 13 hand mare in her late teens, came to HORSE with some immediate needs: her feet needed trimming, her teeth needed to be floated and she needs a nice, warm blanket.

Funds raised from the sale will be used to help cover not only the costs of Sweet Pea’s necessities, but the many other horses on the farm.

HORSE, now in its 35th year, has rescued over 700 equines.
