Guy H. Gillette, 53, of Danbury, died Aug. 29 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Karen (Zarcone) Gillette.

He was born in New Milford, son of the late Horace and Mae Gillette. He graduated from Shepaug Valley High School in Washington, and had worked throughout the state as a carpenter.

He was an avid fan of NASCAR and of the University of Connecticut's Huskies, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best buddy, Stretch. He was a member of St. Peter Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John and Danielle Gillette, of Danbury; his brothers, Gary Gillette, and his wife, Helen, of Enfield; and Todd, and his wife, Tracy, of Roxbury; his sisters, Cheryl Bennett, and her husband, Pete, of New Preston; and Tracy Bertulis, and her husband, Mark, of Northfield; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Zarcone; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Greg Gillette.

The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of the arrangements.

Interment will be private.
