The After School Arts Program based in Washington, which serves northwestern Connecticut, recently held its fifth annual Celebration of Young Photographers.

The event was held at the Litchfield Historical Society, and the contest highlighted student work from schools all around Connecticut in grades three to 12.

The works of two Gunnery School participants, Miranda Yang, of the class of 2017, and Phil Liu, of the class of 2019, were chosen out of 250 submissions to have their photographs included in the 55 photos displayed at the event.

Miranda’s photo, “Qinghai,” received an honorable mention in landscape.

It was the second time her photo had been chosen in this program.

Phil’s photo was in black and white and untitled.
