Gunn library to offer events
Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will offer several programs in the coming weeks.
For adults, a book talk and signing with Annie Kelly, author of "Litchfield Style: Classic Country Houses of Connecticut," will be held Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Junior library offerings will include a Foam Run Derby Oct. 15, pumpkin painting Oct. 22, a Halloween costume party and parade Oct. 29, "Digging for Dinosaurs" Nov. 5, a pirate party Nov. 12, a Thanksgiving craft Nov. 19, a Playdough workshop Nov. 26 and a gingerbread house event Dec. 3.
Fall story times will include Two's Time Fridays at 10:30 a.m. through Nov. 4, Book Buddies for 3- and 4-year-olds Fridays at 1:30 p.m. through Nov. 4, after school story craft for children in kindergarten and first grade Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:15 through Nov. 8 and after school story craft for children in second and third grade Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. through Nov. 10.
After school story craft participants must provide written permission to WPS to take the bus from Washington Primary School to the library.
Programs will be cancelled if Region 12 schools are closed or dismissed early.
Story hours are free and open to the public, but registration is requested to insure adequate supplies.
