The Gunn Memorial Museum in Washington will offer two programs in the coming weeks.

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, a PowerPoint presentation and book signing with Richard Radune, author of "Sound Rising: Long Island Sound at the Forefront of America's Struggle for Independence," will be held Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.

A snow date of Jan. 28 is set.

In commemoration of the 234th anniversary of the signing of the French-American Alliance on Feb. 6, 1778 in Paris, the museum will present a lecture, "Rochambeau in Connecticut," and a book signing with Jini Jones Vail, author of "Rochambeau: Washington's Ideal Lieutenant. A French General's Role in the American Revolution," Feb. 4 at 1 p.m.

The snow date is Feb. 11.
