Don Grippo of New Milford has completed the third novel of his Bret Manley series “The Second Horseman.”

The new book is a tale of conspiracy, international intrigue and an unexpected love triangle.

Much of the action takes place in western Connecticut locations such as Sherman, Falls Village, New Milford and Danbury.

In the book, a resurgent Russian Federation is about to begin a quest for world domination, while Europe is in chaos and longstanding alliances are shattering, with betrayal as the new paradigm.

In the story, the United States is on the brink of civil war because of the actions of Zoe Wilson, once a Marine Corps sniper, who works as a mercenary for a secret organization bent upon fundamentally changing the country. Wilson’s mission is to murder innocent Muslims.

Caught up in the turmoil are Manley, the new lieutenant governor of Connecticut, E.J., his wife, and Mai Faca, Bret’s former wife and tong assassin.

The three form an alliance to end the murders and bring the perpetrators to justice, as well as develop a doomsday plan that will allow them to survive until a new America emerges from its rubble.

Grippo is a Connecticut native and retired oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

The book is published by Page Publishing and is available online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes store, and through major bookstores.
