Coach: Eileen Holden, 1st season as head coach, second with the program after coaching Schaghticoke Middle School's team for two seasons. She also has coached youth and teen softball during her nine-year career.
Assistant: Tony Nocera.
2009 record, accomplishments: 12-8 regular season, 12-10 overall; qualified for the South-West Conference and state class 'LL' tournaments.
Losses to transfer or injury: Sandra Ristau, a junior.
Coach's outlook for 2010: "This season looks to be promising. Lauren Beatty, Theresa Legan, Sam Celio and Lindsay Okada are all returning this season. Lauren Beatty looks great on the mound and Theresa Legan looks quicker at shortstop than ever. Sam Celio and Lindsay Okada have worked very hard over winter and improved their swings. The loss of Sandra Ristau puts a hole at third base, but Morgan Leheny is filling the position very well with her strong arm and her big bat. Jess Murphy is another returning varsity player who will see time in the outfield and behind the plate. A lot of newcomers have jumped the ranks to varsity. Those are seniors Becca Reda and Shanna Haydu, sophomores Megan Grenier and Tara Larkin, and freshmen Julianna Fusco and Vienna Palisco. These sophomores and freshmen will be in the starting lineup and will help the Green Wave to keep the reputation of having a strong defense. The team's goal this year is to make it to the South-West Conference final and qualify and make it past round two in the state tournament.
Juniors: Morgan Leheny, Jessica Murphy, Sandra Ristau.
