Green Fair holds court in Washington

Into its second half-century, the Green Fair in Washington showed recently it hasn't lost its touch.

The host First Congregational Church on the Green again served up a fair July 12 that had everything for its many hundreds of patrons, on and around the scenic green.

Offerings featured a giant tag sale, a Yankee bakery, a ladies accessory booth, a plant pavilion, a jumpy house, face painting, horse wagon rides, a used book emporium, a silent auction, a live auction, food and, new this year, a pig roast and a Christmas in July booth.

Breakfast and lunch was served throughout the fair's four-hour duration.

Proceeds from the fair will benefit the maintenance of the green and meetinghouse.
