Grateful for support of Camp Jonathan
To the Editor:
As New Milford VNA and Hospice begin to prepare for another session of Camp Jonathan, our summer day camp for bereaved children, we would like to thank the groups and individuals in our community who make this very important program a reality.
Every year, we receive very generous monetary donations from the Kent Congregational Church, the Quality Thrift Shop of Kent and the Catholic Women's Guild of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Washington.
These donations go a long way toward funding lunches, snacks and supplies for the week.
We also faithfully receive lovingly hand sewn "Memory Quilts" from the Mountain Laurel Quilters in New Milford.
St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford graciously allows us to use its beautifully equipped hall every year.
Many other vendors, businesses and restaurants have contributed in past years to this endeavor, and faithful individuals send their monetary donations every year.
This year, we dedicate Camp Jonathan to the memory of those who died Dec. 14.
We look forward to another year of helping children and again gratefully anticipate the contributions of our caring community. Thank you to all.
