Grace Joyce, 77, had a son in New Milford
Grace (Caravaggio) Joyce, 77, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Brookfield, was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Joyce and son, Kevin.
Mrs. Joyce was born in West Pittston, Pa., and moved with her family to Bridgeport as a child, where she attended Bassick High School.
She served as a justice of the peace in Brookfield and was active in the Republican Party, both in Connecticut and Florida.
Along with her husband Robert, she was a sustaining member of the United Church of Christ in Boynton Beach and, prior to that, was active in the Congregational Church of Brookfield, where she was a member of the choir and Women's Fellowship for many years.
Among her proudest associations was her long-term involvement with Al-Anon, the organization dedicated to assisting those affected by alcoholism.
During their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Joyce continued a lifelong passion for travel and did so extensively, making extended trips throughout North America and visiting Italy, from which her father and mother emigrated.
Mrs. Joyce is survived by a son, Scott, of New Milford, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton Beach United Church of Christ, 115 N. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, Fla.
The Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, of Boynton Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
