The Devereux Glenholme School in Washington recently celebrated the reopening of its newly expanded and enhanced gymnasium.

The celebration took place May 2 during the school’s annual parents’ weekend celebration and benefit.

For the first time since the introduction of an interscholastic sports program at Glenholme, spectators and guests can watch competitions from the safety and comfort of bleachers.

Stephanie Scott, a Glenholme planning and development board member, parent of a former Glenholme student and a longtime supporter of the school, spurred on the gymnasium expansion project in 2013, when she made a major contribution.

She said her sole purpose was to improve the safety and comfort of the facility.

In addition to the gift from Scott and the Schloss Family Foundation, other notable contributions were received from Jason and Kathy Katims, the Michels Family Foundation and the Planning and Development Board members, along with friends, students, staff and area vendors of the school.
