Georgette V. Lavoie, 90, formerly of Lewiston, Maine, died April 17 at the Kent Specialty Care Center in Kent, where she had been a resident for the past eight years.

She was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Lewiston, the daughter of Benjamin and Emelie Beaucage Cliche. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School.

In 1944, she was married to Bertrand R. Lavoie, who passed away in 1967.

A member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, she was a devout Catholic who was involved in the teachings of the youth ministry and the Catechumenate program at her church.

She was proud of her five children and sacrificed her personal needs for them. Being the youngest member of her family, she cared for her aging siblings throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet, and her husband, John Inness, of Rochester, N.Y.; Claire Lavoie, and her husband, Kenney Bassett, of North Hero, Vt.; and Suzanne Lavoie, and her partner, Jay Przygocki, of Washington; two sons, Donald, and his wife, Laurene, of Sewickley, Pa.; and Daniel, and his wife, Agnes, of Bayonet Point, Fla; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

Services took place in Maine.
