Matthew's Hearts of Hope's fourth annual Giving from the Heart Gala will be held Sept. 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. in Danbury.

The gala will take place at Anthony's Lake Club.

Matthew's Hearts of Hope, Inc. was founded by Marie Hatcher, mother of Matthew, to raise awareness to the number one birth defect, Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs), offer support to CHD patients and their families, as well as raise funds for research.

The nonprofit organization has touched many families, including the Stuhl family.

Dr. Hannah Fraint, a pediatric cardiology Fellow at Children's Hospital of New York and a 2013 recipient of a Matthew's Hearts of Hope grant, was able to create a 3D heart that assisted the surgeon in preparing for and completing the complicated surgery on Baby Stuhl, who was born July 14 with a congenital heart defect.

The result: the surgeon had the confidence to perform this complicated surgery because of this 3D heart model and the doctors were able to correct the multiple defects and save Baby Stuhl from going through a second surgery and save him precious time on the by-pass machine.

Tickets are $50 per person, with proceeds to fund multiple grants like the one received by Dr. Fraint.
