Fund makes grants to local schools to support educational initiatives

The Marc R. Mills Memorial Fund (The Mills Fund), through the Connecticut Community Foundation, awarded grants to Immaculate High School and Fairfield Preparatory School, a release said.

These grants, in addition to previous grants to Massachusetts General Hospital's ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic, ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, Closer to Free initiative at Smilow Cancer Hospital of Yale New Haven Hospital, The New Milford Historical Society & Museum, Village Center for the Arts, Artists in Motion, in Residence at FineLine Theatre Arts, The Children’s Center of New Milford, The Fender Music Foundation and The Pratt Nature Center solidifies the fund’s commitment to support a broad range of local, community and regional nonprofits.

“We are pleased to be able to contribute to such fine educational institutions. With all that our local students have had to endure in the past year plus, it’s fitting, in the midst of the pandemic, to be able aid both school’s commitments to providing educational opportunities, and it also aligns with our mission of community enrichment,” said Executive Director David Nicosia.

Founded in 2014, The Marc R. Mills Memorial Fund aims to bridge the gap between community and philanthropic endeavors by contributing to community-based initiatives in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut.
