Frederick H. Gmuer, 68, a longtime New Milford resident and a former Southbury resident, died Feb. 26, 2010, at his daughter's New Milford home. He was the husband of Susan (Resner) Gmuer.
Mr. Gmuer was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Bronx, N.Y., son of Jeanette (Godwin) Gmuer of Danbury and the late Frederick W. Gmuer.
He was employed as a meatcutter by Stop & Shop for 27 years.
Mr. Gmuer enjoyed horses and golf and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Mr. Gmuer loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 36 years and his mother, Mr. Gmuer is survived by two sons, Daniel S. Gmuer, of New Milford, and Jeffery F. Gmuer, of Torrington; two daughters, Lori Graves, of New Milford, and Karen Lima, of Torrington; two brothers, William J. Gmuer and Thomas C. Gmuer, of Southbury; a sister, Loretta J. Gmuer, of Danbury; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held March 13 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury.
