Food festival on tap at St. John's
St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington will hold its third annual summer food festival Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Vendor booths will offer locally-grown and -produced foods, plants, herbs, cooking utensils and entertaining accessories.
Vendors will include The Pantry, New Preston Kitchen Goods, Waldingfield Farms, Sweeets, Starberry Farm, NYCH20 and others.
Other foods such as cold soups, sandwiches, popcorn and hot dogs will be available.
In addition, other offerings will include arts and crafts and live music with a bluegrass band.
A portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit several of the church's outreach projects, including year-round work with area food pantries, Easter and Thanksgiving food baskets, back-to-school backpacks and a holiday Angel Tree.
A surf and turf clambake will be held at 6:30 p.m., with $75 admission.
