To the Editor:

Our friend and former co-worker Lorraine Kelley has recently left her position at the New Milford Senior Center, where she worked as municipal agent and senior services counselor for 10 years.

Her considerable talents and inexhaustible energy will now be expended in Brookfield, much to that town’s great good fortune.

Since there was no opportunity to thank her at a farewell event, we thought this might be the best way to recognize such a valued member of the New Milford community.

Lorraine is a remarkable woman whose unwavering focus has always been on improving the lives of all who needed her assistance.

She is responsible and dedicated and extraordinarily hardworking.

But it is her genuine kindness and respect for people of all ages that makes her so special, and her role so critical.

She brings an attitude of joy and a positive outlook into every day.

The seniors and families who benefited from her counsel were truly lucky; they knew that having Lorraine in their corner meant they had a determined advocate.

The town of New Milford and Lorraine’s friends at the Senior Center will miss her indeed.
