FineLine Theater Arts in New Milford will soon open its doors to a new home just in time for fall classes.

The new site will be 77 Railroad St., in the former Connecticut Memories home, just north of FineLine's home for the past seven years on Railroad Street.

The building had for decades been home to the Osborne, Lane & McGill hardware store.

The new space, under the ownership of FineLine owners and directors Scott Wise and Elizabeth Parkinson, has undergone major renovations.

Classes for ages 3 through adult will begin Sept. 9.

Registration will be accepted online and on registration days, Sept. 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The studio will be open for tours any time after Sept. 1.

In addition, the conservatory-style performing arts school has announced a new drama and musical theater program.

New classes being developed include spotlight musical theater and acting for students 7 to 9, center stage musical theater for ages 10 to 13 and vocal performance and technique.

In addition, a fully staged musical will be performed in the winter requiring auditions and a four-week rehearsal period.

FineLine will continue to teach the Little Stars creative drama program and acting classes, with added classes for teens in improvisation, scenes and monologues

Also, a 16-week course, "The Triple Threat: A comprehensive study in Acting, Singing and Dancing," taught by FineLine faculty, as well as additional workshops by famed industry professionals, will be offered.

The faculty of teaching artists at FineLine comprises current and former members of prestigious dance companies, Broadway shows, theatre schools and university programs in the United States.

They provide career and college mentoring to students pursuing professional careers in the performing arts. The faculty has connections in the university community, as well as the professional theater and dance community at large.

Each summer on Martha's Vineyard, FineLine offers a pre-professional musical theater lab for students who are serious about their craft.

The program is limited to 26 students, by video submission or in-person audition, and usually fills by February.
