FineLine Theater Arts in New Milford has announced its newly renovated drama and theater program to complement its existing dance program.

The revised program coincides with the performing arts school's recent move to a new site at 77 Railroad St., just down the street from its original home.

Tony Award winner Scott Wise and Leland Williams have written a new syllabus for the musical theatre and drama department.

New classes being developed are SpotLight Musical Theatre & Acting for students ages 7 to 9, Center Stage Musical Theatre for ages 10-13 and Vocal Performance & Technique.

Fineline will continue to offer the Little Stars Creative Drama program for ages 5 to 7 years, in addition to straight acting classes, with added classes for teens in improvisation, scenes and monologues, and dance for actors.

Auditions for area teens for a role in the small cast, full length, legit (non-musical) play "John Lennon & Me" by Cherie Bennett will be held Sept. 7-8 from 1 to 3 p.m., with rehearsals to start Sept. 12.

Auditions for a role in a musical production of "Happy Days" will be announced later this fall.

For the serious-minded student, FineLine offers a 16-week intensive program of study, "The Triple Threat," taught by FineLine faculty, as well as additional workshops by famed industry professionals.

It will conclude with a workshop performance attended by agents and business professionals.

Williams also plans to direct a legitimate piece for older students.

"Like our musical, this will also be an audition required piece," Williams said.

"It will be a small cast show, so that I may truly spotlight the phenomenal talent we have here at Fineline."

Each summer, FineLine conducts a pre-professional musical theatre lab held on Martha's Vineyard for students considering university programs and/or professional careers in musical theatre.
