More than 100 youths trained in dance, song and acting at FineLine Theatre Arts in New Milford offered a display of their talents last weekend at Canterbury School's Maguire Auditorium.

Three stagings of a "Holiday Extravaganza" featured excerpts from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," woven in and around scenes performed by the Greater New Milford-area students exploring the meaning of Christmas and the tradition of The Nutcracker.

Among the featured dancers were Tiffany Billings as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Steffie Madeux as the Snow Queen. Both girls are New Milford residents.

The show, which included both Nutcracker highlights and original musical theater pieces, was choreographed by FineLine owners and directors Elizabeth Parkinson and Scott Wise, as well as by Arlene Begelman and Robert Bianca.
