The New Milford Film Commission plays host to the annual Manhattan Short Film Festival and is looking forward to expanding the weekend this year.

The purpose of the film commission is to encourage economic growth and development by attracting revenue producing films and commercial projects to New Milford.

Major motion pictures shot in town include “Mr. Deeds,” “The Six Wives of Henry Lefay,” “Halloween H2O,” “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” and “My Soul To Take.”

Any filmmaker in the Greater New Milford area who would like to submit a finished work by DVD should send it to Film Commission, 10 Main St., New Milford, CT 06776.

The entry deadline is Aug. 1.
