Feels town should be proud of Rotary

To the Editor:

All of New Milford should be proud of the Rotary Club of New Milford for its tireless work in our community and support of other volunteer groups.

Most recently, at its July 16 meeting, the club presented donations to a wide variety of local nonprofit organizations.

On behalf of the 150 adult learners, 90 volunteer tutors and board of directors of Literacy Volunteers on the Green, I would like to especially thank the Rotary Club for a gift which will help to fund our September tutor training workshop.

This workshop will train new tutors to teach adults in our communities to improve their lives by enhancing their literacy levels.

The workshop dates of Sept. 7 and 9 will coincide with International Literacy Day, an event which is supported by Rotary International as part of its global outreach and interest in literacy.

So, a large bouquet of roses of appreciation to the Rotary Club of New Milford for its generosity and service to our town.
