The Washington Scholarship Fund will host a Family Fun Day Oct. 13 from noon to 2 p.m.
The rain-or-shine event will take place at the Riverwalk Pavilion adjacent to Washington Primary School on School Street.
Activities will include a picnic featuring tacos and quesadillas from El Camion, aka "The Taco Truck," a bake sale, a lemonade stand and family-friendly field day games.
Families of past scholarship recipients will donate the baked goods.
The event is underwritten by the fund's board of directors, and all donations will benefit the fund.
Since its founding in 1964, more than $2 million in scholarships have been awarded to qualified local high school seniors and past graduates.
In 2012 alone, the fund awarded $179,000 to 18 graduating seniors and 39 former graduates.
Each scholarship recipient -- all of whom are residents of Washington, Washington Depot, Marble Dale or New Preston for at least two years prior to their graduation -- is guaranteed continuing financial support throughout his or her college, technical, or trade school education.
