The Village Center for the Arts in New Milford will offer a variety of programs, including an open house to celebrate its 19th year, in the coming days.

The open house, which will take place Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature art by the center’s instructors and staff, and demonstrations in the main studio and pottery studio.

In other news, the center will offer several classes: a leaf bowl workshop with Vickie Nov. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. for $59 (general leaf bowl making) or $79 (general leaf bowl making plus glaze and second firing); drawing with charcoal and pastels (paint own subject) with Betty Ann Medeiros Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. for $139; and paint along with Miss Deb, featuring a birch scene, Nov. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. for $35.

In addition, Dirty Date Night for all levels will be offered Nov. 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. and Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Attendees will be able to learn something new or improve basic throwing techniques. Everyone will make one piece.

The course will include one night of throwing on the wheel and one night of trimming the bottom. Registration is $190 per couple.
