The Wells Valley Cat Sanctuary in New Milford will be supported by an evening with author David Rosenfelt Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Candlewood Valley Country Club on Route 7 South.

The event will include dinner, drinks, a talk by Rosenfelt, author of “Dogtripping,” “Outfoxed” and “Lessons from Tara,” and a book signing with Rosenfelt.

He will discuss his “Dogtripping” adventure of traveling across the country with 25 rescue dogs, 11 volunteers and three RVs, and how his dog Tara led him on the road of dog rescue.

Rosenfelt is the author of 13 mysteries, with character Andy Carpenter and his dog Tara, along with other standalone mystery novels, and the co-founder of the Tara Foundation, a dog rescue organization that has successfully rescued 4,000 dogs, most of them elderly golden retrievers.

Rosenfelt has volunteered his time for this event, which is the last stop on his book tour for “Outfoxed.”

Tickets are $50.
