Erma Raye Mannion, 76, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Danbury, died Feb. 12 at Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the widow of Brien E. Mannion.

Mrs. Mannion was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Manchester, N.H., the daughter of the late Raymond and Erma (Schutzenberger) Todt. She spent most of her childhood moving all over the United States and Guam with her mom and dad, who served as a naval officer.

Mrs. Mannion graduated from West High School and Keene College in New Hampshire with a degree in education.

She resided in Danbury from 1975 until she moved to Florida in 2004. She returned to Connecticut in 2009 to be closer to her family.

For many years she enjoyed gardening and making bead jewelry.

Mrs. Mannion is survived by two sons, Tod Bowers, and his wife, Helen; and Ronald Bowers, and his wife, Samantha; four grandchildren, Julia, Kimberly, Thomas Ian and Calvin; and her dog, Rufus.

There will be a private service in Manchester in the spring.
