Eleanor Marie Nolan Fitzpatrick Rychlewski, 94, of Bridgewater died peacefully Feb. 22, 2011, at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford.

Mrs. Rychlewski, 94, was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Anna Veronica Daly and John Joseph Nolan.

She married Thomas William Fitzpatrick Nov. 24, 1938, at St. Theresa of Avila Church in South Ozone Park, N.Y. They had four children, and while the children were growing up, she was active in the Ursuline Sisters' Guild and the Dominican Commercial High School Mothers' Club.

She earned her driver's license at the age of 45 so that she could drive to her son's college graduation, one of her proudest achievements on many levels. She and her husband moved to Bridgewater in 1976.

After being widowed in 1977, she became the secretary to the New Milford Commission on Aging, worked at the New Milford Senior Center and began attending classes at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.

In 1986, she married Thaddeus Rychlewski.

During the nine-plus decades of her life, she faithfully nurtured her many friendships from grade school and high school.
