Eleanor Mailloux, 79, lived in Roxbury
Mrs. Mailloux was born June 18, 1933, in Shamokin, Pa., daughter of the late Michael Kovalik and Mary (Ferrence) Kovalik.
She grew up in Stratford, attended Stratford public schools and worked as an accounting clerk at Dolan Steel in Bridgeport until she married and started a family.
Mrs. Mailloux moved to Roxbury, worked in customer service for Sears, cared for her children as they grew, entered college and married, delighted in her 10 grandchildren and cared for her ill husband for several years.
She was known for her beautiful smile, kind and generous heart, love of her many cats, Scrabble, cribbage, embroidery, painting, and other crafts, and visiting with her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.
She loved to play Mahjong at the Roxbury Senior Center.
Mrs. Mailloux is survived by a daughter, Alice, and her husband, Paul Ernst, of Woodbury; three sons, Michael, and his wife, Sandra Mailloux, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Daniel Mailloux, of Roxbury, and Paul, and his wife, Michelle Mailloux, of Exeter, R.I; a sister, Dorothy Tucci; a brother, Albert Kovalik; a neighbor, and friend, Mari Acton; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Kovalik; a son, Steven Mailloux; and a grandson, Joshua Mailloux.
There are no calling hours or services. A private burial is planned at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Roxbury.
