Easter offerings planned in community

Several organizations and places of worship will offer Easter events in the coming days as follows:
The First Apostolic Gathering of New Milford Inc. will host a Friday, March 27, prayer gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. at the railroad station on Railroad Street.
New Milford Parks & Recreation will host its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at New Milford High School, Route 7 South. Participants ages 8 and younger should bring an item for the food bank.
Faith Church at 600 Danbury Road (Route 7) in New Milford will present an Easter production Saturday, March 28, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 29, at 9 and 11 a.m. For more information, call 860-354-7700.
New Milford Boy Scout Troop 432 will host its 46th annual Palm Sunday breakfast Sunday, March 29, from 7 a.m. to noon at the VFW Post on Avery Road. The cost is $6.
St. John's Episcopal Church at 78 Green Hill Road in Washington will offer a Palm Sunday service Sunday, March 29, at 10 a.m.; a Tenebrae service Wednesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.; a Maundy Thursday liturgy, foot washing and stripping of the altar Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m., an agape meal and interfaith community seder at 8:15 p.m. and a screening of "Altar of Repose" at 9 p.m.; a Good Friday liturgy April 3 at 7 p.m.; a Holy Saturday service April 4 at 7:30 p.m.; and an Easter service April 5 at 10 a.m.
Salem Covenant Church on Baldwin Hill Road in Washington will offer a Palm Sunday service Sunday, March 29, at 10:30 a.m.; a Maundy Thursday/Tenebrae service Thursday, April 2, at 7:15 p.m.; and an Easter service at 10:30 a.m., followed by an egg hunt.
Also, an Easter sunrise service will take place April 5 at the Stone Church on New Preston Hill.
The church will host its annual Easter bake and flower sale outside the Washington Food Market April 4 at 8:30 a.m., with 10 percent of the proceeds to benefit Loaves and Fishes in New Milford.
An ecumenical Faith Walk is planned on April 3 at noon on the Village Green in New Milford.
The annual Bridgewater Easter egg hunt will be April 4 at 10 a.m. at the Bridgewater Recreation Area on Sarah Sanford Road.
The event, sponsored by the Bridgewater Grange and the town, is open to children from Bridgewater and Roxbury.
Three age categories will be offered for children up to 10.
Roxbury Congregational Church will host a Maundy Thursday pot-luck supper and service of Tenebrae and communion Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. and an Easter service at 10:30 a.m., both at the Church Road church.
An Easter sunrise service will take place April 5 at 6:30 a.m. at Good Hill Road, near Route 317 at Upper Grassy Hill Road on the Woodbury town line. A breakfast will follow at 7 a.m. at the church.
Trinity Lutheran Church at 107 Kent Road in New Milford will offer a Holy Thursday service April 2 at 7 p.m., a Good Friday service April 3 at 7 p.m. and an Easter breakfast April 5 at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Eucharist at 10:30 a.m.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Washington will offer a Liturgy of Our Lords Supper Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m.; a Liturgy of Our Lords Passion April 3 at 3 p.m. and the Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m., an Easter vigil Mass April 4 at 7 p.m., and Easter worship April 5 at 10:30 a.m., all at Our Lady, 34 Green Hill Road.
In addition, an Easter Mass will take place April 5 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 25 Church St., Roxbury.
The Glenholme School at at 81 Sabbaday Lane in Washington will host its annual spring egg hunt April 4 at 10:30 a.m.
Festivities will include an egg and candy hunt, photographs with the Glenholme Hare, face painting and more.
Attendees are asked to bring a canned food item to donate to local food banks.
