Easter offerings planned in community

A variety of Easter offerings will be held at places of worship and at other locations in the Greater New Milford area in the coming days:
The First Congregational Church at 36 Main St. in New Milford will offer a Good Friday ecumenical pray walk on the Village Green March 30 at noon, followed by a free egg dye and movie event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in fellowship hall (bring own hardboiled eggs), and a communion Easter service April 1 at 10 a.m.
New Milford Assembly of God at 47 Old Park Lane Road will hold a Good Friday service March 30 at 6 p.m., followed by a meal and fellowship, and an Easter service April 1 at 10:30 a.m. On Easter, attendees are invited to enjoy free coffee, tea and baked goods at the church’s café, attend the worship service and have children participate in the church’s kids’ ministry.

Trinity Lutheran Church at 107 Kent Road in New Milford will hold a Good Friday service of Tenebrae March 30 at 7 p.m. and Easter breakfast April 1 at 8:30 a.m., followed by a high Holy Eucharist at 10:30 a.m.
Sherman Congregational Church will hold a Good Friday service of Tenebrae March 30 at 7:30 p.m., and an Easter sunrise service with the Rev. Bernie Powell April 1 at 6:30 a.m. at Sherman town beach, followed by hot cocoa, coffee and muffins in the pavilion, and an Easter resurrection service at 10 a.m. at the church.
All events will be held at the 6 Church Road church, except the sunrise service.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 34 Green Hill Road in Washington will hold a Good Friday Passion of the Lord service March 30 at 3 p.m., a Holy Saturday Easter vigil Mass March 31 at 7 p.m. and an Easter Mass April 1 at 10:30 a.m.
Harrybrooke Park in New Milford will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park off Still River Drive.
Participants will collect 10 eggs and cash them in for a new book of their choice and have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.
The New Milford Lions Club will sell chocolate bunnies while supplies last.
The cost is $5 for the egg hunt.
Salem Covenant Church in Washington will hold its Easter bake and flower sale March 31 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the 96 Baldwin Hill Road church.
Pies, cakes, Easter desserts, breads, jams, decorated eggs and flower arrangements will be sold, with 10 percent of the proceeds to benefit Loaves and Fishes.
The Bridgewater Grange will hold an Easter egg hunt will be offered March 31 at 10 a.m. at Bridgewater Recreation Area.
The Glenholme School at 81 Sabbaday Lane in Washington will play host to a spring hunt March 31 at 11 a.m.
Guests can participate in the egg and candy hunt, spend time with the Glenholme Hare, and participate in a variety of other activities.
Donations of a canned food items for local banks are welcome.
St. Patrick Church at 25 Church St. in Roxbury will hold Easter Mass April 1 at 8:30 a.m.
First Apostolic Gathering of New Milford, Inc. will hold an Easter service April 1 at 11 a.m. at 25 Church St.
