E. LeRoy Morgan, 95, had family in Greater Danbury area towns

E. LeRoy Morgan, 95, previously of Danbury, died Jan. 27, 2011, at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Catherine (Hossan) Morgan.

Mr. Morgan was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Danbury, son of the late Edward L. and Dorothy (Rasmussen) Morgan.

Before his stay at Bethel Health Care, he had lived in Danbury all his life and attended local schools.

Mr. Morgan graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1933.

He worked for John W. Leahy Company and Bard-Parker Company and retired from Danbury Centerless Grinding Company after 37 years of employment.

Mr. Morgan met his wife, Catherine, at John W. Leahy Company, and they were married on May 30, 1941. They celebrated more than 69 years of marriage.

He was a member of St. Peter's Church, where he had been an usher for many years. He had also been a member of the Danbury Senior Center and RSVP.

Mr. Morgan was an amateur musician all his life, playing mandolin and harmonica, and was a member of the Cellmates Skiffle Band at the Senior Center for more than 17 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Elaine and Arthur Leach, of Danbury, and Janet and Joseph O'Connor, of Brookfield; four grandsons and their wives, Karl and Karen Leach, of New Milford, Paul and Dawn Kocot, of New Fairfield, Jordan Leach, of New Preston, and Wayne and Chantal Kocot, of Danbury.

Mr. Morgan is also survived by five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Hossan; two nephews; three nieces; and several cousins.

The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
