Dorothy M. (Cesca) Ward, 86, died Nov. 13, 2010, at Glen Hill Care and Rehabilitation Center in Danbury after a long illness. She was the wife of the late James F. Ward Jr.

Mrs. Ward was born April 27, 1924, in Torrington, daughter of the late Leonard and Maria Cesca.

She attended Danbury Public Schools and was employed by Risdon Manufacturing Co., National Semi-Conductor and Laser Optics, from which she retired.

Mrs. Ward was an avid reader and card player. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Allen, and husband, Jack, of Bridgewater, and Doreen Pilkington, of Danbury, with whom she had resided; and four grandchildren, Allison Cassavechia, Jaime Cassavechia-Smith, James Pilkington and Casey Pilkington.

Mrs. Ward is also survived by her brother, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nelson Pooler, Marie Cesca, William and Irene Ward and Jeannette Mannion.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Benjamin, Leonard, Pius and Gene Cesca, and three sisters, Lena Gardinale, Mary Sadowski and Martha Pooler. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.
