Dorothea DeFriesse, 66, was peace advocate

She was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Manhattan, N.Y., the daughter of the late Angelo and Victoria (Zanon) Christu.
She was an advocate of peace and a nature enthusiast with a lifelong passion for gardening, and a love for animals.
She is survived by her companion, Jeffrey Case; a daughter, Renee Hyatt, and her husband, Hal; a stepdaughter, Sarah Case; three grandchildren, Hal, Meghan and Victoria; a brother, Peter Christu; a sister, Cynthia Konecny; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at the Bridgewater Congregational Church, 10 Clapboard Road, Bridgewater.
The Cornell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
