Police: 1 hurt in Stratford crash involving bicyclist

STRATFORD — Nichols Avenue was closed for several hours after a crash involving a bicyclist Friday morning, according to officials.

The state Department of Transportation said Route 108, Nichols Avenue, was closed in both directions between Quail and Lincoln streets because of the accident.

The incident was reported by the state DOT around 7:30 a.m. By 11:30 a.m., the scene had cleared and the road was reopened to drivers.

Capt. Frank Eannotti said the crash involved a car and a bicyclist, leaving one person injured. He said they were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but that there was no update on the extent of those injuries early Friday afternoon.
