The Judea Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will offer a DAR prospective member workshop March 31 at 5:30 p.m. in Washington.

The workshop will be held in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Memorial Library on Wykeham Road.

The workshop is designed to assist those women 18 years of age or older who are interested in joining the DAR, and can prove a direct bloodline to a Revolutionary War Patriot.

Interested prospective members should bring documentation: birth, marriage and death certificates (where applicable) for themselves, parents and grandparents, and any other family documentation to show lineage.

If individuals haven’t started to collect any family documentation, they are encouraged to come and learn about the steps needed to document lineage.

Katie Gabrielson, regent and past registrar of the Trumbull-Porter Chapter DAR and CTDAR state chairwoman of Volunteer Genealogists and past lineage research chairwoman.

In addition, other members of DAR will be available to assist in organizing information and research that will lead to completing the application for membership.

Anyone in Washington and the surrounding communities is welcome to attend.
