Cyclo-cross race courses planned
Phys Ed Health and Performance in New Milford will sponsor a set of cyclo-cross race courses for all levels of racers for adults and children Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The courses will be offered at Clatter Valley, 158 Old Town Farm Road, in town.
Experience is not necessary.
Riders are invited to bring anything that has two wheels but no motor.
There will be three levels: seasoned riders with race experience will take off at 9 a.m., followed by amateur racers with no experience at 10 a.m. and children ages 5 to 12 at 11 a.m.
Registration will start one hour before each race.
Prizes will be awarded.
Phys Ed is the third New Milford business to help raise funds for an environmentally friendly asphalt surface on the New Milford River Trail at Young’s Field Road.
The New Milford River Trail Association aims to get a 13-mile multipurpose greenway for walkers, bikers and joggers from the Brookfield border to Boardman Bridge, where the first third of the trail has been completed in Sega Meadows and along River Road.
The suggested donation is $30 per head for participants of any age above 5.
