Crisis intevention event on tap

The City of Hartford has been selected as the site for the 2013 Crisis Intervention Team International Conference.

The event will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center Oct. 14-16.

An estimated 1,200 law enforcement officers, mental health professionals, and consumer advocates will gather for one of the country's largest conferences focusing on mental health and the criminal justice system.

Forty-two Connecticut law enforcement agencies with CIT Teams, including the Danbury Police Department, with many more in the developmental stage, are planning to attend.
