The New Milford Public Library will present a program, "Shaping a Sustainable Future as a Creative Act: An Introduction to Artist Shelley Sacks and University of the Trees," July 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Steven T. Dahlberg, director of International Centre for Creativity and Imagination, will facilitate the program at the Main Street library.

A video introduction by Sacks will be followed by conversation about the role of individual and collective creativity in shaping lives and communities as a creative act.

Sacks has introduced University of the Trees projects in England, Germany, India and South Africa.

She will lead the first U.S. training on University of the Trees at the Jane Goodall Center at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury Aug. 1-3, in collaboration with the International Centre for Creativity and Imagination in New Milford, the Social Sculpture Research Unit in the United Kingdom and the Center for Innovation at South Kent School.
