Community Day set in Washington
The third annual Community Day will be hosted Saturday, June 1, rain or shine, by the Washington Business Association.
The slogan for this year's event is "Think Local First."
Offerings will include a farmers market; a folk festival; numerous business, service providers and nonprofit booths; a giant bake sale to benefit the After School Arts Program; activities at several businesses in the Depot; food; and viewings of fire trucks and the White Horse Pub and Restaurant's iconic taxi.
Attendees are invited to make and decorate musical instruments and masks at the Washington Art Association.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available to purchase, with proceeds to benefit the Washington Community Fund; the Washington Food Market will sell lunch packages; and The Pantry will sell a variety of items.
In addition, Wendell Minor will sign copies of his new book, "The Eagles Are Back," at Hickory Stick Bookshop from 1 to 3 p.m.
QuoVadis will offer a sidewalk sale and specials.
Washington Supply will celebrate its grand re-opening with special activities and specials.
The Washington Pharmacy will offer free balloons, soap samples and expired medication disposal.
The Washington Liquor Store will offer a wine and cheese tasting.
