Community Day on tap in Washington
The Washington Business Association will hold its fourth annual Community Day Celebration Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activities will take place rain or shine -- many of the booths will be tented -- at Bryan Memorial Town Hall at the intersections of routes 47 and 109.
There will be more than 50 booths from local businesses and institutions.
In addition, a tag sale to benefit the After School Arts Program based in Washington, a children's workshop with the dance troupe Pilobolus, an aerial rescue by Arbor Services and Washington emergency medical technicians, games with prizes for children, a pottery wheel demonstration with participation from the Washington Art Association, face painting for children with the Washington Market, food and more will be offered.
Shuttle buses will run from the Washington Primary School on School Street, where there is ample parking.
WBA president Fran Keilty of Hickory Stick Book Shop issued an invitation to the public to attend to celebrate the WBA, which consists of the five historic villages of Washington, Washington Depot, New Preston, Marble Dale and Woodville.
