The Garden Club of New Milford will hold its annual plant sale May 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Village Green.

The rain or shine event will feature the sale of annuals, perennials, herbs, small shrubs, hanging baskets, fresh-cut flowers, miniature and pre-planted container.

On display will be a fairy garden, a moss garden and an herb garden.

In addition, a tag sale featuring garden items and free garden magazines will be offered, and an information tent will be available for patrons looking for planting guidance and who want to learn more about deer resistant plants, invasive plants, harmful insecticides and pollinator plants.

Children are invited to make a garden craft to take home.

The Garden Club has been a presence in town for more than 92 years.

Among the club’s volunteer projects in the community are planting trees, landscaping public places, helping during the war years with victory gardens, canning clinics, Red Cross work, providing aid to soldiers and their families, designing and planting the historical society garden, decorating the Village Green and planting and maintaining gardens on and near the Green.

The club offers projects with seniors and children and welcome the public to any of its educational programs.
