Christina Izzo likes to help people save money.

A "people person" with a gift for retail sales, Mrs. Izzo has found her niche in consignment resale.

Opening a clothing consignment shop at 159 Danbury Road named Finderz Keeperz was the way to put her eye for fashion and penny-wise sensibilities to good use, she said.

"I price like I purchase," Mrs. Izzo said, holding up a brown hoodie velour jacket by Juicy Couture. "This retails for $90. I priced it at $30. I don't over-price because I don't like to overpay."

Coach bags sell for $25. Women's sizes in clothing go from size 00 to size triple X and offer everything from casual wear to cocktail dresses.

"We women come in different sizes at different points in our lives," Mrs. Izzo said. "I went from a size 7 to a size 20 after my first child. Now I'm back down to a 14."

The mother of three -- aged 3, 8 and 10 -- Mrs. Izzo knows how fast kids grow and go through clothing. She's recently started taking children's clothes and shoes on consignment. Backpacks and kids jeans are big sellers this month with school starting, she said.

Mary Ann Avallone is a regular customer at Finderz Keeperz. Last week found her shopping for her youngest daughter.

"The selection and the pricing are what keep me coming back," Mrs. Avallone said. "I seem to find something every time and always of good quality. Christina's very picky about what she'll take in for sale."

Mrs. Izzo and her family moved three years ago to New Milford from Yonkers, N.Y. She has come to "love the slow pace" of the town.

"I love it here," she said. "The school system is great. It's calmer than the city. And it's a great place to raise kids. I wouldn't leave for anything."

Finderz Keeperz, 159 Danbury Road (Route 7) in New Milford, is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The shop is in the building with 21 Century Realty. For more information, call 860-355-0052.
