Chess national master to give program
Finneran, 22, is a former Connecticut middle and multiple high school state Chess champion. He is currently ranked as a national master, the highest Chess ranking in the U.S.
Finneran will play against the top chess computer software in the world and see if he can beat the computer.
He will also perform a simultaneous play, where he will play multiple people at once, show some of his top games against Chess grand masters and masters, show and teach some of his checkmate moves, and play a game blindfolded.
Admission is $10 to watch and $20 to play, with non-members discounted to a price of $15 if RSVP by May 25.
The center is located on Route 37, Suite 2B in Sherman Commons, behind Amore Restaurant.
