Charles W. Tracey, 83, of Danbury, died July 4 at his home. He was the husband of Anne (Scholtz) Tracey.

He was born in Farmington, Maine, the son of the late Willis and May (Drew) Tracey. He attended schools in Gardiner, Maine, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked for many years at Grossman's Lumber Co., and was a past member of the Danbury Constables.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, David Tracey, of Danbury; Larry Tracey, of New Milford; Andrew Tracey, of Winchester, Calif.; and Julie Tracey, of New Milford; two sisters, Irene Patrone, of Winsted, and Leona Wellman, of Oakland, Maine; two brothers, James Tracey, of Farmingdale, and Ernest Tracey, of Winsted; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Tracey, and a sister, Grace Fish.

Interment will be private.

The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of the arrangements.
