Charles Smalley, 95, was a retired mechanic
Mr. Smalley was born Sept. 27, 1914, in the town of Southeast, N.Y., son of the late Charles and Laura (Enzian) Smalley.
He worked as a mechanic for the Connecticut State Police for many years.
He enjoyed bowling, golf, and hunting.
After retiring, he became a gentleman farmer, raising cows and working on his tractors.
In addition to his wife, of 74 years, Mr. Smalley is survived by his children, Barbara Schoen, and her husband, George, of Titusville, Fla., Charlotte Piskura, and her husband, Albert, of Washington, and C. William "Bill" Smalley, and his wife, P.J., of Warren; two sisters, Jenny Dalton, of Towners, N.Y., and Ruth E. Brown, of Southbury; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, George and Asbury, and two sisters, Helen and Ethel.
The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
