Born in Pawling, N.Y. on June 23, 1919, he was the son of Courtland and Esther (Woodin) Clarkson.

On Feb. 20, 1945, he married Dorothy Bullied in Pawling; she predeceased him.

Mr. Clarkson was a salesman in the mat department at Pawling Rubber Corp. before retiring in 1980.

He was past president and a member of the Pawling Lions Club and past master and member of the Harlem Valley Lodge 827 Free & Accepted Masons.

He is survived by a son, Charles Clarkson of Bath, N.Y.; a daughter, Doraine Rideg and her husband Carl of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a brother, Arthur Clarkson of Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Judith Clarkson of Carmel, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Racioppo, Charles III, and Stephen Rideg; and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Alyssa.

The Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home of Pawling was in charge of arrangements.
