Carolyn Spletzer, 54, went to nursing school

Carolyn (Goncalves) Spletzer, 54, died Jan. 1. She was the wife of Scott Allen Spletzer.
She was born May 11, 1958, in Kittery, Maine, to James and Margaret (Carr) Goncalves. She grew up and attended schools in Cape May, N.J.
After high school, she attended nursing school and received a licensed practical nurse degree.
In addition to her husband of 27 years, Mrs. Spletzer is survived by four children, a son, Peter William James, and his wife, Tiffany, of Bethlehem, Pa.; a daughter, Janis Lori O'Dwyer, and her husband, Brooke, of Sherman; and two other sons, Erik Scott Spletzer, and Kurt Allen Spletzer; four grandchildren, Devon, Emma and Connor O'Dwyer and Mason James; two sisters, Meg Severio, and her husband, Robert; and Jessica Brown, of New Jersey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, J. Gregory Goncalves, and a grandson, Gavin Ryan O'Dwyer.
The Cornell Memorial Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
