Carmela "Millie" Chetta, 94, a resident of Norwalk for 60 years, died on Friday, February 23, 2007, in Norwalk Hospital. Born in New York City, the daughter of Vito and Rosalie (Maniscolco) Vaccaro, she was the wife of the late Nicola Chetta. As a young girl, Millie spent several years in Italy, before coming to Norwalk. A loving family woman, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: John Chetta and his wife, Alice of Norwalk; Margherita Biasetti and her husband, Bob of New Fairfield; Rosalie DiMeglio and her husband, Louie of Norwalk; and Joseph Chetta and his wife, Paula of Norwalk; as well as 14 loving grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and five cherished great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Ruggiero and a brother, Steve Vaccaro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Jerome Church, with burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.
