Canterbury to open new exhibit

The Edward J. Duffy Gallery at Canterbury School in New Milford will open an exhibit of mixed media works Jan. 9, followed by a reception with the artists Jan. 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The exhibit, which will run through Jan. 30, will feature works by Chris Manning and Kerri Gaudelli.

Gaudelli, born in Danbury in 1989, holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in studio art from the University of Connecticut and a master of fine arts degree from Western Connecticut State University

She teaches studio art at Middlesex Community College and works in the Education Department of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield.

Manning, born in 1983 in New York, holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Manhattanville College and a master of fine arts degree from SUNY New Paltz.

He is the exhibitions coordinator at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, as well as a professor of visual art at Manhattanville College.

He has taught at the College of New Rochelle, and has been a visiting critic at the Wassaic Project and SUNY New Paltz Master of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs.

The gallery at the Aspetuck Avenue school is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
